Kenn Blanchard dedicates this show to women.
Thank you ladies. I’m not going to talk about pink guns, naked women with automatic weapons but I am going to give props to the women in the shooting sports.
I’ve been doing this blogging thing since 2007. Before that it was a website called blackmanwithagun.com.
One of the reoccurring themes throughout is my connection with strong women that shoot. They didn’t just own guns for self-defense, they had them for the same reasons I did, for fun. Some even hunted. Now, I have refined my associations and know powerful women that shoot. Women like Barbara Baird, editor in chief of Womensoutdoornews.com, I have met the leaders of PROIS Hunting apparel, marketing guru’s like Laura and Ashley Burgess. Then there is my longtime friend, Peggy Tartaro of Women & Gun Magazine that has survived a waning business model (paper) but has great content. Always dug the women I have known in the National Rifle Association too. They put up with a lot of crap and keep kicking. Tanya Metaska was awesome in the Institute for Legislative Action. She was almost my boss once. Sandy Froman, past president is a sharp sister.
And how can I forget the women in Chicago that are out front and behind the scenes making change happen for gun rights like Valerie Rowe, Dr. Paula, Rhonda Ezell and Colleen Lawson. Then there is Gail Peppin of the Pro Arms Podcast, and on an on. Each of the women I have named have taught me something, helped me get a little further, shared and just been a solid friend. Some more than others, the latter more like associates but you know what I mean?
The woman pictured is the marketing lead for LuckyGunner.com, Angela. Her hotness is only amplified by the Kriss she was shooting when I met her. All photos courtesy of Oleg Volk, photomaster.
Women in the shooting sports, are not all there just for crime prevention.
