Motorycle Podcast 28
My featured interview this week on Podcast 28 is Deon W. of DMV-Spyder-rider and he educates me on Can Ams and I talk about trikes.
The Three Wheel World
You like what you like. Sometimes we form opinions based on stuff we have heard but not from personal experience. Three wheeled cycles fit into that category.
I have learned that riding a trike is different. Duh, right? The first thing is that it is personal taste. It has nothing to do with age or physical ability. If you want a trike get one. If you have been riding a two wheeled bike before there are some differences other than the obvious.
Trikes are bigger. You put out a bigger track. You don’t have to put your feet down, so don’t. You won’t tip over. You can actually get hurt for doing so. You won’t have a kickstand. Some trikes have hand brakes like cars. You don’t lean to steer. You just point it in the direction you want to go and twist the wrist (throttle)
My son, surprised me the other day when he said he will probably want a trike. He is in his twenties. Trikes can be made from scratch, come from the factory or you can take a motorcycle you love now and make it into a trike. One of my friends owns Mobile Motorsport Solutions down in Fredericksburg, VA and they can “trike” your bike as well as do other kinds of maintenance and customization.
I found this video and site online. They do the same thing with all makes.
